Biel is a scientist dedicated to supporting projects that effectively mitigate and increase understanding of environmental and climate crises. To this end, he is putting his Python skills to use as he acquires and cleans up datasets and assesses their quality for Vizzuality’s projects. Previously, Biel gained expertise in environmental science, data science, remote sensing and GIS at the University of Barcelona and worked in software development for a small agrotech company focused on regenerative agriculture.

While Biel likes to dive deep into environmental datasets, he also loves to submerge himself in the actual sea as a casual freediver and passionate underwater photographer of fish and octopuses. He also enjoys experiencing the sea from above water level while sailing around his native home of Mallorca. If you don’t catch Biel at the sea, you’ll find him at a gig playing bass  with the band Da Souza.
