The brief.

Effective communication is essential for building the bridges between different groups and IISD has been at the forefront of this effort for decades. To communicate over eight years of accumulated expertise, IISD challenged us to help them develop a new knowledge hub, so the whole world can take the pulse of the sustainable development movement.

Our role.

We knew we needed to build something that piques curiosity at every turn and helps people to find the links between each of the SDGs. It had to be a space for people to find new information that inspires new actions, a place that hastens rather than hinders collaboration. Working together over a few months, we designed and developed not just a dynamic web application, but a springboard for people to jump off into IISD’s vast pool of knowledge.

Enhanced usability and efficiency.

Our engineering work simplified complex search functionalities, ensuring swift responses through careful query optimization and caching. Our design introduced intuitive visual cues, like the SDG ring on the homepage that illustrates content scope, and labels on articles indicating relevant SDGs. Together, we've made content discovery seamless, offering users a comprehensive and visually enhanced experience.
