FORA (Funders for Regenerative Agriculture) is a collaborative network aimed at advancing regenerative agriculture through shared knowledge and strategic funding. Currently available as an internal tool for FORA members, the platform brings together funders and practitioners, providing insights that foster collaboration, enhance transparency, and drive impactful initiatives across the sector.

FORA’s platform advances the mission to transform regenerative agriculture funding by featuring an action map that provides a clear view of funding flows, strategies, and outcomes. Alongside detailed lists of funders and projects, the platform includes a dashboard with comprehensive graphics summarizing the entire data ecosystem, helping funders and practitioners identify gaps and opportunities, make strategic decisions, and foster impactful collaborations.

Developing the FORA platform.

The brief.

FORA needed a platform to replace cumbersome spreadsheets and reduce the admin burden on their internal team. The goal was to create a tool that aggregated funding data, provided a clear view of funding flows, and supported strategic decision-making, all while fostering greater collaboration among their members. The challenge was to design a user-friendly platform that encouraged active member involvement and broke down data silos, aligning with FORA's mission to advance regenerative agriculture through shared knowledge and strategic partnerships.

Our role.

Vizzuality, in close collaboration with FORA, defined the project’s scope and objectives through a comprehensive discovery phase that aimed to understand user needs and the strategic goals of the platform. This process led to co-creating an intuitive user interface and experience, prioritizing visual clarity and ease of navigation. We developed both the front-end and back-end of the platform, which is currently released in an internal environment and not yet available for public use. We focused on ensuring the platform is scalable, flexible, and adaptable to FORA's evolving needs. As we move into the next phase, we are implementing a Content Management System (CMS) to enhance functionality, allowing FORA to manage content more independently and automate data input forms, enabling funders to easily update their information annually without hassle.
